Memory
All memory is high-speed, low-latency DD2 memory, installed in dual channel configuration to maximize speed and throughput. Actual memory module manufacturers that are shipped vary. Rest assured that the modules have been chosen based on stringent performance and reliability requirements of BMN.
Hard Drive Storage
You can easily increase the amount of storage your server has with additional drives installed by BMN. Simply add the additional storage options below, and indicate which installation configuration option you desire in the Notes field during the checkout process. The manufacturer (Seagate) warranties (currently 5 years) for each disk apply. The options are:
- JBOD, which stands for "just a bunch of disks". This simply adds to your existing hard drive storage as more capacity.
- A separate storage drive (adds a new drive letter, e.g. E:)
- RAID Mirroring, which duplicates your existing drive on the new drive. Optimizes data security, in case one fails, you have an exact duplicate.
- RAID Striping, which doubles the capacity of your drive and boosts drive read/write speed. Optimizes for speed.
- RAID Striping and Mirroring, with the benefits of both. This requires 4 physical disks of the same size.
Note: RAID configurations above require that the physical size of all drives in the RAID array are the same. E.g., if you have a single 250GB drive, and you want to add another drive in RAID striping configuration, then you need another 250GB drive. However, you can have one 250GB drive as one drive, and 2 400GB drives in RAID. If you have any additional questions concerning your server's storage configuration, please contact us.
